Hooper+Mayfield, Opt-Out Ramifications, Bullshit, and the Ceveland Browns

Now we're up to 5 Covid 19 opt-outs, as you know, but ex-Bengal DT Andrew Billings is the one that will hurt.

As I've posted, the reasons for Forbes and other offensive inemen opting out might have been tactical.  In some cases, they are extending what could be very short carreers by a year, and even 175,000.00 is more than most real people earn in a year.

If I was a young borderline player, I might well take this deal.  I would probably look for a job, full or part time, in the carreer-field I expect to pursue after my NFL carreer, and/or take more classes toward an advanced or second degree, or skill, or whatever.

Working out like a maniac for 365 days would actually be dumb, but I would of course work out to get stronger and more "sudden", and (more importantly) practice techniques relentlessly.  Also, practice my job per my playbook, and have that memorized by my 2021 training camp.

I'd show up there in the best condition of my life, determined to show my coaches a thing or two, and elbow my way up the depth-chart.

Full disclosure:  Yeah I'd party, too.  Just not on a Manswellian scale, and very little within 4 weeks of camp.

On the other side of this, these opt-out guys open the door for 5 players who might not otherwise have NFL jobs.

At DT, an older veteran bandaid might be in order, because Joe Woods is eyeball deep in 3-tech penetrators, but almost devoid of big run-stuffers like Billings.

Those grabbing at Right guards (and throwing money/draft picks around like confetti) are like one of those drowning people who drown their would-be rescuers in their mindless, paniced spazzdom.

DePoBerry are no doubt checking out veteran Guards, but only within reason.  The. Saints guard, for example, is a very good player, but New Orleans is letting him go partly because he doesn't fit a zone-blocking scheme hello? Anybody home?

Speaking rationally, 2020 5th round "Center" Nick Harris has probably moved up the RG depth chart.

Harris started at guard before moving to center in college.  Many legit experts see him as only a zone-blocking center in the NFL because he's only 6'1", and is probably "maxed out" at 302 lbs.

Other real experts insist that in the Stefanski (Shanahan/Kubiak) blocking scheme, Harris could be an effective guard.

The initial plan was to have Harris focus on the Center position, as he could well be JC Tretter's 2020 backup, as well as his eventual successor.

That was when Drew Forbes was toeing the line with Wyatt Teller.

I don't see Chris Hubbard at Right Guard (but could be full of it).

Josh Edwards says that new Tight End Austin Hooper stayed at Comrade Mayfield's house for 3 weeks, which is awesome.

Before any of you say anything about white privelage, I remind you that Comrade Mayfield is down with the...whatever it is, and would have kicked Hooper out had David Njoku "applied", doncha no.

Anyhoo, Pro Bowl Tight End Austin Hooper practicing with Comrade Mayfield is great news for sentient Browns fans, since Hooper is the starter here.

What was that?  No, Sherlock.  There will be only one starting Tight End in this (Comrade) Stefanski offense, since Kareem Hunt is an obvious starter is any of this sinking in yet?

Austin Hooper is Comrade Mayfield's life preserver, in spite of his whiteness.

I can't redundate the Kareem Hunt stuff any more.  Anybody who still bloviates this "two Tight End" crap is clueless, if not a dumbass, if not an idiot (no offense).

Anyhoo, Austin Hooper will make a HUGE difference for the 2020 Browns, in spite of his white privelage.

Hooper is literally THE most reliable Tight End in the NFL (no doubt as a result of his white privelage), so Comrade Mayfield will look for him in every "oh shit" emergency (even though he's white--but that's just the kinda bold leader Comrade Mayfield is).

Really, though, Comrade Mayfield is a racist for not making sure to have David Njoku stay with him too.

No I hear you: Baker may well have extended the same offer to the african-american Njoku, but we know that Njoku knew that he was unwelcome, since Comrade Mayfield is white (ergo geneticly racist).

Propaganda and hysterical psychotic idiocy aside, Austin Hooper will be a HUGE upgrade for the 2020 Browns...

...Ok well Comrade Mayfield is "woke" and stuff, and Hooper is white, so he has to make sure not to indulge Hooper's white privelage too much, so...

Is any of this sinking in yet?
