2020, Reality, David Njoku, Strategery, Capitalism, and Chicken Little

First, anybody who calls Covid 19 "deadly" is a hack.  About 97 out of 100 infectees recover, and most of those who die were on the doorstep anyway.

If you have a motorcycle accident, test positive, and die from your injuries, you are a "covid" death, too.  This hysteria is epic.  What's going to happen when we have a real plague?

And by the way, if you catch Covid 19 in Ohio, you are 15% more likely to die because the use of hydroxychloroquin is banned based on propaganda.

You are the BORG.  You have been assimilated.  You are drones in the Collective.  You are programmed by CNBC, and I feel sorry for you.

George Orwell (1984, Animal Farm) was a reformed Communist.  His novels predicted and explained what you idiots are falling for now, and where it will lead.

...and dammit Wicopedia describes him as a "democratic socialist", which is pure bullshit.  "Democratic Socialists" are totalitarians wearing a mask...like the Editors of Wicopedia.  How ironic that they do what he describes in his books to his very eulogy.

But I digress.  There's very little Browns news (the fact that Mayfield is a shithead isn't new).

David Njoku has apparently retracted his trade request, which is good, but will be massively misinterpreted by more pundits than MKC:

I won't repeat that those who expect Kareem Hunt to be benched in favor of any Tight End are delusional.  I will simply say that David Njoku knows this, and that Austin Hooper is indeed ahead of him on the depth chart in 2020.

David had good reasons for requesting a trade, and none of those have changed.

Behind the scenes, Andrew Berry and Drew Rosenhaus probably agreed that David backing off and going "all-in" would increase his value to other teams.

A "disgruntled" player is a headache that teams need to get rid of if they can, and other GMs will offer less in trade because of that.

Berry no doubt made it clear to Rosenhaus that he wouldn't accept less than a 3rd round pick (or something) for his client, and advised him to read Porto or Pluto, who (inexplicably) think he's worth a 5th round pick.

Njoku being "all-in" restores Berry's leverage with other GMs, who can't make "fire sale" offers for the disgruntled player.

In turn, this makes a Njoku trade more likely, as the other GMs will have to make offers based on Njoku's real value.

Another couple factors here:

1: Right now, Austin Hooper is the top dawg based on reliability and blocking, but Njoku's upside is higher.  David no doubt intends to force his way into more reps and targets.

Hooper is his perfect rival, because he's a good blocker and has arguably the best hands of any TE in the NFL.

David will have to zero in on his two biggest weaknesses to toe the line with Hooper.

Regardless of how (assuming no trade) this Hooper vs Njoku thing works out, David Njoku will become a much better Tight End than he was in 2019.

(On the other side of that, PFF knocks Hooper vs man coverage, so he might improve as he tries to hold the "kid" off.)

2:  My optimistic daydreams aside, Kareem Hunt might well be a GMF in 2021.

This would bring back that 2-Tight End offense the clueless are predicting for 2020, with Njoku entering the final year of his contract.

David Njoku might get on the field 25% of the time in 2020 (here on this planet where Kareem Hunt is a Brown and you can only field 11 players at a time) *Njoku could do more at Hooper's expense, but you have to go with the veteran Pro-Bowler here for now*

Blocking aside (Njoku will never be a great blocker), David needs to get as close to Hooper's best in the NFL catch-rate as he can.

If he can impress PFF as maybe 75% as reliable as Hooper in this category, he'll be awesome.

He might have only like 35-40 receptions, but probably averages over 15 yards per catch.

Or, he's like Braylon Edwards (Edwards Scizzorhands), in which case Berry might still be able to get a conditional 5th rounder for him...

On this planet and in this dimension, David Njoku's "floor" was established in 2018.  He is not likely to ever be worse than that...

You people a 5th round pick!?!

But I digress: I consider a Njoku trade as likely as not.  The compensation should be at least a 3rd round pick, or a top-notch veteran.

The Baltimore Ratbirds have me writing off the AFC North Division for 2020 and aiming at a wild card slot.

It's irrational and stupid to puff out your chest and boldly deny reality.  The Baltimore Ravens might just be the most talented team in the NFL, and their Coaches are as good as anybody's.

Lamar Jackson enters only his third season, and they upgraded this offseason! Systems in-place and lots of veterans.  Dammit.

The Browns have comparable talent overall, but are bringing in new offensive and defensive systems, new Coaches, and probably 6 new starters (including 2 rookies).

Face-to-face, the 2020 Browns might upset the heavily-favored Ravens at least once, but the Ravens will kick everybody else's asses (except maybe the Steelers).

Berry, Comrade Stefanski etc will never admit it, but they expect not to win the AFC North in 2020.

A bunch of pundits want Berry to trade for very expensive veterans, and are throwing 1st and 2nd round picks and massive cap dollars around like confetti, but in the real world, the extremely talented, experienced, and well-coached Ravens own 2020, and no amount of overspending or draft pick squandering will change that DO YOU UNDERSTAND?

DePoBerry see 2021 as their best shot at the Division crown, so DePoBerry are unlikely to spazz out squander picks and money with Mayfield, Ward etc on-deck...

Do any of you comprehend this?
(If not, you have John Dorsey keeping you company.)

Pearls before swine (no offense swine).

Okbye
