Andrew Billings' Potential Replacements and Browns' Stuff

DT Andrew Billings has opted out because he is ascared of the deadly killer Coronavirus plague.

Before I call him a pansy, I have to look for other motives and strategery:

Billings was on a modest one year contract, and is in his prime.  He is a nose-tackle and a run-stuffer mainly, but feels he can be more disruptive too.

The '20 Browns are loaded with sub-305 lb. 3-tech athletes at DT and had no (proven) legit zero-shades prior to Billings.  Billings was actually likely to knock Ogunjobi a rung down the depth chart and start in the middle here (Larry never belonged in the middle).

So far, Andrew Billings looks like an asshole to me. He has a great opportunity to prove that he deserves a bigger long-term contract, and to fill a specific need; maybe getting his new team to the playoffs, and he takes the chump-change to take a vacation.

I'll keep the jury out, as he might be diabetic or athsmatic or something, or have a close family member who is likewise vulnerable.

That's the problem with Covid 19: Most of us would shrug it off, but if we see Grandma a lot or our wife or child has a condition well...I get it.

But if it's not something like that, he's a weenie.

Randy Gurzi suggests 3 potential free agent replacements for Billings, starting with Mike Daniels...who is an undersized passrusher like Ogunjobi and Richardson and Jordan...

30 year old Marcell Dereus could make sense as a cheap one year bandaid (and "mentor" of course...gotta have lots of mentors, doncha no).

Snacks (Damon) Harrison is Randy's top pick.  He's 32-33 years old, and clearly in decline, but should be very cheap; clearly as a run-stuffing rotational player for one season.

...okbye
