There is some hope, as some victims of this lethal disease have reportedly survived. Area hospitals are stocked with ventilators, no thanks to alleged President Donald Trump.
Here, Jamie Gillan describes his nightmarishly horrific experience with the deadly and persistant virus. He still clings to life despite a recurrance.
Just in case: That was satire. They'll be fine duh. Excuse me while I wash my brain out with soap...
Jarvis Landry's placement on PUP has a silver lining, as the rest of the guys will get more reps with Comrade Mayfield.
Hodge, Higgins, and Rodney Ratleyfield have some experience with Mayfield, but Peoples-Jones is brand new, and OBJ never seemed to get on the same page with his Comrade in 2019.
Jarvis Landry, for whatever reason, is quickly "freindly" to any Quarterback, and already has 2 solid years with Mayfield.
Steven Kubitza makes training camp predictions. My readers have heard this before, of course, but it's nice to see that a few other analysts actually catch up to me eventually sometimes.
First, Steve thinks draft pick TE Harrison Bryant will kick ass in 2020.
I haven't been saying this myself, but it is bold without being dumb.
After switching from OT to Tight End, Bryant quickly became a superstar at his new position.
Most importantly, he got open and showed great natural hands, along with much more athleticism than showed up at the combine.
Tight End isn't an easy position to master fresh out of college, so I think Steve is a tad optimistic about him vs Njoku, but I do expect to see him taking some reps on the field and catching 20 or so passes (for over 13 YPC).
Next, Steve concurs with Captain Obvious and myself that Kareem Hunt will be the third Wide Receiver.
Steve piled on Freddie Kitchens for "not having a clear plan" to exploit Hunt's talent, and for forcing the ball to other players.
I seem to be the only one who understands that Kitchens was doing what Dorsey told him to do. OBJ was the centerpiece of his dumbass New York Giants trade, and come hell or high water, Mayfield was throwing the ball to him.
I know that Dorsey overrode Paul DePodesta to retain Freddie as the Head Coach, and know that Kitchens had to be grateful. I think he was a puppet, and what we saw in 2019 was a John Dorsey offense.
Anyway, Comrade Stefanski is reputedly a (football) genius, and should max out on Kareem Hunt.
He's kinda wasted as a lead-blocker, and can only tote the rock at Chubb's expense, so WR it is.
That will be fun to watch! As I've mentioned, defenses really have to label any Hunt/Chubb package a "21" set, since if they field their nickel defense, that is how the run-oriented Browns will line up.
They'll have to compromise with a Wilks/Woods hybrid "big nickel" (smart). The safeties can run with Hunt, and speed is much better vs zone-blocking than size.
Anyhoo, as Steve cites, Kareem's stats were only from 8 games. He might have caught for over 550 yards...
While I agree with Steve about Hunt being the 3rd receiver, I also expect him to indeed line up in the backfield with Chubb often, as Stefanski in 2019 loved pitching or dumping off to his Fullback on counter plays, and Hunt could do a lot more damage on those...and then yes: he is a terrific lead-blocker (especially when his target is a safety and not a linebacker see?)
As I posted a week and 2 and 4 ago, RB is a punishing position with a short carreer expectancy, so don't expect Nick Chubb to carry the whole load at Tailback in 2020.
It could cost him the rushing title, but could preserve his health and should prolong his carreer if Kareem Hunt takes some carries off him.
To be brutal here, if Kareem Hunt is expected to leave in free agency after 2020, while Nick Chubb is expected to be re-signed for big bucks, then you "ride" Hunt extra.
As it is, Kareem Hunt is the default 3rd and long RB in an 11 or 12 set, so Chubb will get to suck oxygen there.
I still think that Kareem Hunt could be (justifiably) extended for average WR money, and I guarantee you that Paul DePodesta is already considering that.
You might not get this: WRs make more than RBs. If the Browns are willing to carry one less Wide Receiver to pay Kareem Hunt top tier RB money, his extention is a no-brainer.
But I digress: Steve is right about Hunt being the 3rd WR.
Last, Steve predicts that Jedrick Wills will win the Left Tackle job.
That's not really "bold", Steve. Those who express concerns about Wills' transition from the right to the left side, and who point out a long list of Left Tackle "busts" aren't looking at this issue in context.
In the offense that Kevin Stefanski will run:
1: "True pass sets" will be rare. There won't be a "pocket" most of the time, as the QB is usually moving (to his right duh). He'll hand off or fake a handoff and throw.
2: Even when true pass sets are required, an OT will often have help from a chipping TE, and more often than not the QB is supposed to make his throw in under 3 seconds.
Only on 3rd and a mile will these Offensive Tackles be required to duke it out with your Garretts and Bells, and even then they probably have help.
I zeroed in on pass pro only because run-blocking for Jedrick Wills is in the bag.
Left Tackles who crap out and end up as guards or whatever are invariably expected to single-handedly neutralize elite edge-rushers protecting a pocket-passer.
If Jedrick Wills found himself in one of those situations, I would worry.
Context matters, you people:
Baker Mayfield didn't play in a vacuum as a rookie or in 2019. Ditto David Njoku.
Their schemes and Coaches changed, as did Mayfield's weapons.
Listen to me: Any real analyst looking at any player with less than 3 years' experience will set his best season as his "floor".
Obviously, players usually improve with experience, right? And they screw up the most during their first and second seasons, right? Is any of this sinking in yet?
Ex-Browns Linebacker Sam Acho sounded alarm bells about Baker Mayfield a couple months ago, but that was like 70% psychological and sociological; about team chemistry, the locker room, and leadership.
That's why I didn't declare Acho an idiot at the time.
Analytically, Baker Mayfield looks awesome going forward, but Acho didn't address that.
He questioned Mayfield as a leader of men. Acho pointed to several statements and incidents which (irrefutably) showed immaturity.
I still think Sam is wrong, because Comrade Baker was a charismatic leader throughout his college carreer and 2018. He is universally beloved by all his former teammates.
As you know, I consider Baker a drone outside of football, with no character or original thought...indeed a dumbass.
However, he is a leader on the football field, and he has already proven his talent, so expecting him not to kick ass in 2020 is ignorant and stupid (
Anyway, Baker has already promised to kneel for the National Anthem, which will cement the loyalty of all the brainwashed bros on the team, as well as the anarchists and communists.
Since Acho is
I wonder how that works. I mean, how can you be a leader in the collective? You saw how long Drucilla Brees lasted as a non-kneeler, right? And then his apology was too late "nobody will forget what he said". "It's too late".
Deedeedeedy (Twilight Zone).
It’s bullshit, and Shannon Sharpe is an idiot. Everybody who saw that asshole with his knee on that guy’s neck was enraged by it, but left wing race-baiters managed to make this one incident emblematic of oppression by police.
Assholes are demanding “justice” for George Floyd, as if his murderer isn’t having the book thrown at him, along with the 3 junior officers who didn’t intercede.
Why tf is Obama demanding “justice” for George Floyd, when all these guys are going to prison?
A bunch of you people have been whipped into a frenzy over manufactured, bullshit issues. More than HALF my Law Enforcement fellows and bosses were
Black cops shoot black people MORE often than white cops do, twice as many whites are shot than blacks, and all of this that you’re kneeling about is BULLSHIT, and you are “useful idiots”
I’m glad I won’t have to experience the mess you brainwashed anti-american idiots are about to make of this last best hope...
Okbye
