Cleveland Browns Needs Hallucinations, Bullcrap, Draft Delusions

Would you knuckleheads quit acting like Danny Shelton is a Pro Bowler and two people?  The Browns need help at defensive tackle ?  Why not tight end?  Why not strong safety?  More Personnel guys too?  Depth at GM?

Stop it you're killing me! Read this Cleveland.com pre-draft analysis of the defensive line.  It doesn't have any big words in it, and is brief but pretty accurate.

Those PFF grades they include have real meaning for defensive linemen, as the geeks can quantify just about everything at this position (or cornerback, or every position where you're actually in somebody else's face).

A note on this, however:  This article uses overall grades, and not vs pass and vs run grades.  Jamie Meder's 72 overall grade is pretty decent, but he no doubt grades much higher vs the run, and lower vs the pass.

This is important for defensive linemen, because coaches rely on these unique skill-sets to determine who rotates in and out situationally.

I was surprised to see that Ogunjobi's overall grade was significantly higher than the other guys.  I do have to say that I think Coley might be kind of Meder's opposite (better vs the pass than vs the run).

If we bring in the defensive ends here, several are capable of playing inside as well, and this matters.

As I've mentioned too often, Brantley and Ogunjobi were rookies, and Coley a second year player.  All three can obviously DUH be expected to improve significantly in 2018.  Obviously.  That's obviously obvious, isn't it?

As the writer says, Dorsey might draft or sign another defensive tackle if he thinks he can upgrade the position, but it's obviously not one of those in need of help...so stop the inanity!

Mike Lucas writes a good article on why fans might actually believe that the Browns quarterback woes could end shortly...believe it or not.

Nate Burleson is a big Browns' booster who predicts this, but Kyle Brandt aint buyin' it.

Kyle says Hue Jackson is 1-31 and is still there, so......

In a vacuum, that's a great point, but this isn't a vacuum.  Todd Haley is installing his own offense, and will call his own plays.

While technically Hue Palmer will be in charge, he really won't be.  Haley runs the offense, and Gregg Williams runs the defense.

Hue knows he held onto his job by the skin of his teeth.  He's also smart enough not to interfere with these two strong, proven coaches.  He's on thin ice, and Jimmy Haslam aint buying what he's selling anymore.  He only retained Hue to prove he could be "patient" to the torches and pitchforks crowd.

So Kyle Brandt is fulla beans.

Denzel Ward over Barkley, Chubb, and Fitzpatrick?  My God how desperate will these people get to be "different" in the next couple weeks?

Josh Allen has pulled even with Sam Darnold at first overall in the mock drafts, "according to sources".

First of all, you need to know that "leaks" are mostly bullshit.  That is, guys like me make stuff up, and more prominant writers "go with it".

More often, the more prominant urinalists invent nameless "sources" to back up their own opinions and guesses...and those opinions and guesses are in turn influenced (if not dictated) by guys like Mel Kiper, Mike Mayock, MKC, etc.

In reality, over 90% of the "leaks" these clowns cite are invented by the given writer.

In reality, the best quarterback in the 2018 draft has as good a chance as Allen or Darnold.
