OBJ vs Gregg Williams, John Dorsey vs Andy Reid, BS vs Reality, Browns vs Jets

Dan Justik wrote an exceptional article about one possible reason why Browns Interim Head Coach wasn't given the permanent job after the 2018 season.

Dan sifts through comments by the players themselves prior to and after the Haslams made their decision, and found no strong support among them.

Naturally, this was brought into focus after OBJ's recent assertions that some of his current defensive teammates told him that Williams told them to "take" OBJ "out"...in a preseason game.

Dan didn't mention this, but none of OBJ's teammates defended Williams (tepid PC evasive responses aside).

Dan noticed most of this, and (of course) the "Bountygate" scandal (which was triggered by players "snitching" Williams out to the League...with recordings).

You will recall that I was convinced that Williams had promoted this culture, even if he didn't personally offer any "bounties", and was disgusted.

But a few years later, I was thrilled when the Browns hired Gregg Williams, because he was pretty good, and I assumed he had learned his lesson.

You people need to understand that in today's unionized NFL, 98% of the players consider all other players their brothers, and are repelled by the idea of deliberately injuring eachother.

Dan (I think correctly) infers that Gregg Williams never "had" the team:

OBJ is an obnoxious clown, but I know that what he said about Gregg Williams on the eve of this game was calculated, deliberate, and perhaps rehearsed.

He called Gregg Williams (and not the Jets) out.  If Gregg is still pushing this crap, his accusations will resonate with those defensive players.

See the response?  Where is the (real or fake) "outrage" by the Jets players?

People keep comparing OBJ to Antonio Brown, but OBJ is a massively better human being, and maybe smarter too.

Locker room material?  Chuh!  OBJ just put the referees on alert, and under the microscope for this Monday Night Football game.

Like I said: OBJ said what he said on purpose, and maybe with the Front Office's implicit support.

Unintended consequences could mean excessive zebra interference with both teams, and of course the game can still be fixed by the referees, as some (or many) are.

No, G: I'm not wrong.  I was trained to look for patterns, and think with my brain.  I've also gambled a lot.  NFL referees fix games.

Sorry all my evidence is circumstantial, but it is overwhelming.

You don't want to believe it...but I digress:

Gregg Williams' defense should at least be on it's best behavior, and OBJ's accusations could keep Baker Mayfield et al out of the hospital.

OBJ has to be getting paid (more than the weekly fines) to wear his stupid watch.

That's innocuous for now, but it's the camel's nose:  Other players will copy him, and it could mushroom into insanity (see "Nascar") if the League Office doesn't head it off at the pass.

The simplest way is to increase the weekly fines, and charge the miscreants more than their sponsors are paying them.

As you know, only a couple posts ago I was bashing OBJ over this watch thing, but now, in light of his assertions in re Gregg Williams, I think Odell is just making a little extra money (while maxing out the attention he gets).

It's kinda funny:  A watch company sees that the weekly fine for wearing a watch is 5k, so they offer the player 10k.  It's almost like free enterprise, right?

The League Office will probably increase the weekly fine to 11k next.  And the watch company will probably increase it's bribe to the player.

The NFL can't lose.  They can fine players as much as they want.  How tf can anybody compare Antonio Brown to OBJ in this context?

But I digress again.  I think...

A new writer some genius hired instead of me proclaims that the Browns need to trade 2 first round picks (or whatever) for Redskins stud Left Tackle Gramps Trent Williams (and I assume give him a big raise).

I admit that I used to be pretty dumb in general, and idiotic occasionally.  I can't even count the letters mailed, statements made etc I wish I could take back.

But I can honestly tell you that I was NEVER as dumb as this writer.

Sigh...despite the referees obviously sticking it to the Browns last week, the homies were very much "in it" until Greg Robinson was ejected from the game.

Kendall Lamm took over, and got injured himself.  Hubbard moved from Right to Left Tackle, and Justin McCray replaced him at Right Tackle.

A hand grenade rolled into the foxhole, and the survivors did as well as could be reasonably expected.

Lots of people are overreacting to this debacle, and declaring the Browns 2019 Offensive Line crappy, but this guy...what the hell is wrong with you people?  He's your brother or cousin...you owe him money? Compromising photos?  Bribery?

Ohhmmm......ohmmmm...

Back in the day, we called guys like this "twitch", or "spazz".

Anyway obviously the 2019 Browns don't have the same Offensive Line as they did in 2018, right?

Well that's because Dorsey traded (maybe the best RG in the NFL) Kevin Zeitler to get OBJ and Olivier Vernon.

Ok so Austin Corbett didn't rise to the occasion, and John Dorsey signed several free agents with starting experience (all of which were very good in pass protection but sucked as run-blockers per PFF etc) for insurance.

Well, I need to research this; I'm just guessing here, but: Are these numbers indicative of how John Dorsey built the Chief's Offensive Line?

...oh I'm sorry.  Did you think Andy Reid built the Chiefs?

Typical.  Andy had a lot of input, of course, but it was Dorsey who traded up for Mahomes, stuck his neck out for Tyreek Hill, and (I just checked) too many to list.

Andy Reid is a great OC and Head Coach, but giving him credit for every Dorsey draft pick is purely political.

Look at Dorsey's 2 Browns' drafts, and there it is.  I assume you get that Hugh Jackson didn't compel Dorsey to draft Baker Mayfield first overall (remember Kessler and Kizer btw?)

You'll have to trust ME on this one: John Dorsey (not Andy Reid) built the Chiefs, just as he has built the Browns (at lightspeed).

I'm just wondering: Between Darnold, Allen, and Mayfield, which did Hugh Jackson really want?

Doesn't matter.  Dorsey didn't care.

Anyway you people are clueless last callokbye

Browns Defensive Line, Ebineezer Bell, Browns vs Jets, Bad Analysis, OBJ is a clown

Jim Miller of NFL Radio is an excellent and objective analyst, and I want to make sure nobody construes the following as criticism (let alone "bashing" for crying out loud you snowflakes):

Jim looks at the Browns much-hyped Defensive Line and said he couldn't see "one player who scares me.  Myles Garrett is good, but not great.  He hasn't proven that yet..."

Jim went on to say Sheldon Richardson and Olivier Vernon were like that: just pretty good.

I respectfully suggest that Jim hasn't alalyzed this fully yet (and again no bashing: Jim has 32 teams to figure out.  Rich Gannon was another ex-Quarterback who always started slow with the Browns, but was pretty good by midseason).

Anyway Gregg Williams limited Garrett to only 2 passrush moves in his second season, but he still broke the Browns' season sack record, made the Pro Bowl, and second team All-Pro that year too.

He did this with his 2 moves and despite any significant help from the other DE or anywhere else.  Now this offseason, he shaved off 10 lbs., is allowed to make as many moves as he wants, and has Vernon and Richardson to take heat off him.

In re those guys, Jim:

Vernon was an OLB in New York.  He's better as a dedicated passrusher; a 3-4 DE.

Richardson isn't Aaron Donald, but he isn't Trevon Coley either.

Both Vernon and Richardon are significant upgrades over the guys they replaced, Jim.  The product exceeds the sum of the parts.

I left third year DT Larry Ogunjobi out (as Jim did), but point to him as an emerging talent Jim overlooked.

Per the players and Steve Wilks, Vernon and Garrett will switch sides sometimes.

Jim Miller hasn't recognized the inevitable (*uninjured) future of this defensive line yet, but, like other less fortunate Quarterbacks, he will.

...and he will be scared.

I wish I could be as happy about Sam Darnold's mono as you guys are, but at this point in time, Trevor Siemion is probably an upgrade (dammit).

Well--Siemion's most recent history is unimpressive, but his experience still matters a lot.  He doesn't have Darnold's deep arm either.

Well...meh.  News that Ebineezer Bell's arm was falling off would have made me much happier.

I don't agree with Bub that Ebineezer will run all over the 2019 Browns Defense behind the 2019 Jets Offensive Line.

Vs the Bills' defense last week, Ebineezer averaged 3.5 YPC and caught zero passes in a one-point struggle.

The Steelers Offensive Line was one of THE best in the NFL (and Big Ben one of the best QBs) the last time he played in the NFL prior to his wildcat strike.

We in Cleveland have noticed how Ebineezer's merely human replacements performed in his absence, and see eerily similar statistics hmmm....

Don't get me wrong: Ebineezer Bell is a terrific talent (as a receiver as well as a running back).

But Big Ben and the Steelers' Offensive Line made him think he was...more...

No: I'm telling you right now that (in addition to others) Nick Chubb is better than Ebineezer Bell.  (shh don't tell Nick!  We need to delay that Brinks truck as long as possible!)

Too bad Antonio Brown now gets Tom Brady throwing at him, but according to my (filtered) sources, Antonio Brown only thinks he is Randy Moss, and...

Well he has his best shot at a Superbowl in 2019, but is done.  His own delusions of godhood are over with, right now.  Tom Brady won't stop throwing to Edelman and the other guys.

Antonio Brown will probably catch over 60 passes for over 1,000 yards, and then get kicked to the curb, because he's an undersized geezer who was never fast in the first place, and is washed up.

I personally think AB is despicable, but if his goal was one last shot at a Superbowl ring was his objective, I can't call him a dumbass too.

But Ebineezer Bell? Oh yeah HE is a scumbag AND a dumbass too!

Bub!  With the Jets Oline and QB(s) Ebineezer Bell is just a pretty good running back!  Sans Big Ben and the Steelers Offensive Line, he is...well, Duke Johnson, except a little bigger.

Sadly, Siemion will exploit Bell as a receiver much better than Darnold did dammit.

Anyway bye for now.

Joe Thomas: an Inhuman Monster. Beer=Spit. Snowflakes. Killll Mee

Political Correctness is a form of brainwashing.

Some guy attacked Joe Thomas for saying "if you violate league rules and go into another teams' stands to celebrate, you should expect beer to get poured on you".

Look, you people: That guy (who was banned from all future Browns games--probably lucky they didn't arrest him) didn't hit anybody with a brick or baseball bat, ok?

And for crying out loud this snowflake writer is saying getting beer poured on you is maybe worse than getting SPIT on!?! OKFG GET A GRIP!!!

Holee crap when I grew up we got in FIGHTS!  We struck eachother with our knuckles and stuff!

What a bunch of fkng sissies!  This is why our (foreign) enemies laugh at us!  Buncha spoiled brats!  Beer=spit just shut tf up snowflake.  And DON'T VOTE.

Ohmmm....ohmmmmmm....

I was gone for awhile but I'm back now.  Joe Thomas you da man.

Greedy Williams will start at CB vs the Jets.  It might help some.  You guys know I like Terrence Mitchell a lot, but Williams has too many physical advantages over Terrence to be held off for very long, plus Williams proved he could tackle (in spades) throughout preseason.

Freddie Kitchens says he thought Eric Kush did a good job at Right Guard vs the Titans.

He means these things, and he is usually correct, so you can stifle the obligitory snark, see?

I mean, if he had said that Hubbard or Robinson or Harris did a good job, you could sneer and snort all you wanted, but he won't offer any such BS.

This (such as it is) is good news, as we were all worried about Kush; indeed wondering how soon one of the two newest guys could replace him, right?

Now we're worried about Robinson and Hubbard again.

Ok but the Browns were "in" the Titans game until Robinson got the boot, Hubbard went to Left Tackle, and Kendall Lamm came in at Right Tackle.

Still with me here? Ok so this blew that "chemistry" the experts talk about so much all to hell.

Vs the Jets, Robinson will be back, and Hubbard will return to RT.  Niether is worth writing home about, I know, but at least the Offensive Line will regain it's cohesiveness and continuity vs the Jets.

It M A T T E R S.

Mayfield looked especially sharp in practice today, and somebody is (rightfully) pointing out how effective the Browns' hurry-up is (mostly because of him).

It would be nice to hurry up all the time, but that's been tried.  The hurry-uppers' defense ends up on the field too much and wearing out.

Sticking with it wouldn't have worked vs the Titans after the Robinson fiasco.  Defenses blitze and stunt more vs hurry-ups, trying to blow stuff up in the backfield, and two new Offensive Tackles are too easy to screw up.

Somebody else broke down the 18 penalties the Browns drew.

Remember what I said about political correctness?

Tom Beilik's whole precedent for his alleged analyisis was that the penalized player was guilty of either poor technique or lack of discipline...the operative word being "guilty".

Tom concedes up front that every call was legitimate.  Obviously, Tom has at least been brainwashed, and might be a pod-person.

A person using an actual brain as intended (especially from Cleveland) would never assume that referees were always right, let alone validate all 18 of those calls.

And yes, Tom did exactly that!  He hinted that somebody might say that a couple of them might not have been absolutely neccessary BULLSHIT.

STOP IT.  T H I N K.

You kids...those referees unmistakeably screwed the Browns, systematically.  I saw two holding calls that were bullshit (sorry if I hurt your feelings there🖕), but the players were innocent.  H O L D I N G!!!!

And I can't trust a damn thing Tom wrote here about any of the other penalties.

He's got Myles Garrett "punching" a guy in the face, and I know for sure that one of those roughing the passer penalties was bullshit:

Tom describes Browns defenders alternately "driving the Quarterback into the turf" and hitting him---nevermind I can't stay with this: Tom is a drone and a snowflake. He should seek his fortune writing speeches for...

Nevermind I'm so disgusted I want to spit nay!  Pour beer on somebody!

Zzingg anyway at least half those flags were bullshit here on this planet and in this dimension here in reality and I'm sick of pod people, drones, and politicians who ohmmm....ohhmmmmm...

But it never stops, ya know?  Your homework assignment is to watch the movie "Idiocracy" (twice), and "1984".

"Idiocracy" was a comedy, but just accidentally became prophetic.  "1984" was written by a former communist as a warning oops sorry sports blog nevermind...

You people...with all due respect to Jake Burns and several others like him, I've been ahead of Mary Kay, Pluto, Grossi etc for awhile now, and some other scumbags read my posts and regurgitate them without attribution ohhmmm....ohmmmmm...

🖕

I keep digressing here, but it bugs me that the majority of my readers are people who systematically steal and regurgitate my thoughts and opinions.

My brother doesn't think he reads this blog, but trust me: he does.  He just reads the regurgitations instead, 18 hours to 3 days later.

And always sanitized, of course.  You know, sans the sarcasm, insults, caustic humor, spice, etc well 🖕🖕🖕.  That's for the assholes that steal my intellectual property and for my bros who read those scumbags and not the source of their brilliant insights...

I gotta credit my brother IN LAW here Bub: Bub reads my blog, and I think appreciates the caustic humor and sarcasm and stuff too.  Bub, none of those fingers were aimed at you.  Please resume commenting (I know how to find "feedback" now, and will "hear" you).

When I set this thing up, I wanted to get you and my bros involved.  That's why I gave you the links.

I never wanted to be the Big Expert.  I wanted the 3 of you to give me feedback; I wanted at least a semi-debate, see?

Budd noooo! My bro in law actually gave me feedback.  My genetic bros ignored me.

I can't help but thinking that the 4 of us arguing would have been more successful than this, but thank you Bub for...everything.

Please inform my brothers that they are assholes and resume giving me feedback, and feel free to be less diplomatic.

My original intention was to create a kind of "forum" where the 4 of us discussed and debated all things Browns, but obviously all the invitees except you laughed at the notion.

I know you all have your carreers and lives to live and stuff,  but I didn't think that asking for weekly discussions of the Browns was too much to ask.  Excuse the hell outta ME!

Well obviously my genetic bros find discussing the Browns with me not worth bothering with, but I would cherish your input, ok?

Especially where you disagree with me.  And btw feel free to insult me personally, as this is my forum, and I can return the favor, but you know me better than my twin bro, obviously: I am exactly who you want "in charge".

I've gone off the rails here, but am going to publish this.  People "fishing" around the web might find me not BORING.  Browns fans might...?  My bros might extract their heads.

...the goobers can't respect that little corner for me, and don't think it's worth their time to even "put me in my place" jeez...

Hey you other guys?  You think I'm as dumb as my bros do? Aint this pitiful?

FREDO! They think I'm FREDO!

They're lucky I can take a punch.

Browns Need to Grow Up Immediately if not Sooner. OBJ WTF with the Watch Give us a Break with this Crap!

Who can fault Chris Carter and Shannon Sharpe for calling the Browns immature?

And why the hell is OBJ wearing a 350,000.00 watch on the freaking football field!?!  Give me a break!!!

Well the hell with that game anyway.  That's one where you want to burn the damn tape and pretend it never happened.

...well except for Baker Mayfield, and maybe his receivers.  As I posted, one of his picks was actually a pretty good throw; literally inches off the perfect zone at over 12 yards.

When it's that close, that receiver is supposed to prevent the pick if he can't catch it himself.  I'm not making excuses: that is part of the receivers' job, because all quarterbacks have to make those contested throws.

The other 2 were ugly, and Baker will need to make sure he doesn't take the cheese next time.

Odds are that the Browns' next game won't be obviously fixed have the same crew of zebras.

Sam Darnold played quite well vs the Bills, but Jamison Crowder hogged up 14 of the receptions.

That's not good, as Crowder is the guy Steve Wilks will zero in on, and he has the players to do it.

When a Quarterback leans hard on one receiver, that's also a bad sign, because it might indicate that he's not seeing the whole field.

Some experts expect the Jets to make a big leap in 2019, but a big part of that is based on Sam Darnold himself.

I'll take Baker over Sam 10 out of 10 times, especially this week:  Steve Wilks will likely put Ward on Jamison Crowder (without help) and make Darnold try to figure out how he's covering everybody else while unleashing hell on him.

Again, I'm not bashing Sam Darnold, but he came out of college with less than 30% of Baker's experience, and that at a lower level of competition.  This is not a fair fight in 2019.  Darnold isn't in Mayfield's area code yet (and might never get there...Colon.)

After what the Titans did to Hubbard on sunday, it looks like Freddie will need to use 2 backs or Tight Ends like he did as OC last season.

The pressure Mayfield was under was almost instant and constant; rediculous.

The Jets run a hybrid 3-4, and don't have the passrushers that the Titans did (the Titans were a top 5 2018 Defense, kids.  The Jets aint like that, see?)

Robinson will be back, and Hubbard shouldn't be as overmatched as he was on sunday, so the max protects aren't urgent, and the 3-wides should work vs this defense.

Last call okbye

Updated 2019 Browns Record Prediction: 15-1. Titans and Referees Mug Browns

First, while the Titans would have won this game anyway, the referees ruined it for the Browns.

Everybody knows that the refs can call holding on every play.  They don't, because that would ruin the game.  In this game, several of the holding calls I saw on replay weren't even legitimate.

...man...you're making up holding calls to screw the Browns now?

Nevermind: Baker Mayfield threw 3 picks and the Titans outplayed the Browns and earned their win the old fashioned way.

The Browns were undisciplined, and possibly as many as half the penalties the obviously biased zebras called were legitimate.

I need to head a lynch-mob off here; we've got all the negative stuff covered, right?  The Permabashers swarming out of their hiding places in full throat with the ropes, torches, pitchforks, etc?

So I have to stop the lynching.  And if you use the word "excuses", I am saddened that I can't be there to punch you in your willfully ignorant face.

1: Greg Robinson got himself kicked out of the game early.  He was the starting Left Tackle.  It mattered, you people!!! Robinson was only mediocre, but Kendall Lamm is worse IT MATTERS.  IT MADE A DIFFERENCE DO YOU UNDERSTAND!?!

Then Lamm got hurt, and continued playing.

2: The Titans Offense is better than advertised.  And this team was 9-7 last season despite a slew of critical injuries.

This was a veteran playoff team with an elite defense in 2018.

3: The Titans superglued and Duck taped Offensive Line stifled Murderers Row.  Just the facts, man.  Mariota had time, more often than not, and Titans running backs broke tackles.

Once plan A (tackled in the backfield) failed, it was off to the races, and a bunch of Browns getting outrun.

BUT, you people, Derrick Henry is a freak.  The Browns won't face him again in 2019 (thank God).

4: NFL teams have gotten rediculous about not playing their starters in preseason.  As we saw thursday night and today, people are screwing up a lot.  Methinks these Coaches have overdone this "protect your starters" stuff.

5: If you think Baker Mayfield will even blink after this horrific performance, you need a brain transplant.

I couldn't see his first interception, but of the 2 I saw:

One was inaccurate; by maybe SIX INCHES at over 18 yards downfield.

The other went exactly where his intended target was, before he broke outside.  In that case, I think it was his fault, and not the receivers'.  But even the experts on NFL Radio can't figure that out sometimes.

It doesn't matter.  It's miscommunication between elite players.  It will happen less often, week by week (duh).

The Titans dominated the Browns in Cleveland.  The Browns screwed up a lot, but none more than Baker Mayfield.

If you expect that Baker Mayfield will...I dunno regress or something...

Screw it Baker Mayfield is the real deal and getting scarier game by game.

Colon Cowturd and his ilk are jumping up and down, pointing fingers:

3 interceptions in the first real game.  See? I was right!  Yeah--like Dan Marino proved he was a loser when he threw 5 interceptions in one game.  Can you believe Miami drafted him?

Anyway I just got some new info, and need to revise my 2019 w/l prediction:

15-1.

Browns vs Titans: Titans are in Deep Doodoo. 2019 Browns have a QB, and are massively upgraded. DEAL with it!!!

I can't wait for the home opener.  Can you?

I really like that Myles Garrett used the phrase "bloodbath" to describe what this Browns' Defensive Line can do.

And it can this sunday, as, in addition to LT Taylor Lewan MIA, two other starters (including RT Jack Conklin) are not at 100%.

The Titans Offensive Line wasn't very good in pass protection to begin with, either.  It's a very bad matchup for the Titans (just the facts, man).

But the Titans have a 247 lb freak running back and a microbe waterbug RB and can run the ball with the best of them.

As my last post outlines, the Titans (having no choice) will have to run and play "small ball" passing-wise.

It's critical that the Browns stifle that running game immediately (if not sooner), because if they don't, play action will work for the Titans.

Some of you don't get that yet:  If an offense is running over a defense, the defense has no choice but to stack the box, play more zone, and leave their free safety on an island.

I just found out from somebody (maybe Terry Pluto) that "Mister Downhill" Henry excels running outside.

Try not to fill in any blanks here -snap-snap- still with me?

Derrick Henry isn't shifty or quick, but has amazing straight-line speed for anybody within 20 lbs of him.  Speed is all that matters when you're trying to run outside.

This could spell trouble for the Browns' defense.  We can wish that Hue Jackson was running the Titans' offense, but these Coaches won't be running G-power and sending Henry up the middle all day.

Henry has the speed to escape all the defensive linemen to the "edge".  The Browns front 4 should seal off all the cutback lanes, and push him to the sidelines, but he can still get past them.

At that point, linebackers and DBs are ideally converging, but he can run any one or 2 over.

I'm simplifying this, as I know I've already got you on the edge of a coma...ok sorry:

Hue Jackson is not the Titans' Head Coach or OC, so the Titans will tighten their chinstraps and attack the Browns' outside with Henry.

They hope he won't be touched or rerouted, and can just "curve" vertical at full speed, and run right over Randall and co, see?

My inexplicable communications errors with the Browns continue, so I ask you guys to tell Steve Wilks for me:

1: Don't blitze from outside (except when it's obvious).

2: Blitze inside (with DBs instead of LBs) on neutral downs here and there.

Steve, you need to screw those handoffs to Derrick Henry up (as well as, of course, beating the crap out of Mariota).

Beat Mariota to the handoff.  Force Henry to run horizontal instead of diagonal.  He's dead meat if he has to slow down or make sharp cuts, after all, so duh.

3: You can run more zone (or at least off-man) outside until you have a safe lead.

Steve, you need that zone early to keep Henry (and that little bastid Dion Lewis) in front of everybody, and the inside (("run")) blitzes to generally disrupt that backfield and stop that monster Derrick Henry before he can get his mojo.

That's it for what you guys need to tell Steve Wilks until this communications glitch is resolved.

Speaking more generally to you people (and Terry Pluto), I have used Rashard Higgins, Chubb, and the Browns' defense (variously) on my inaugural 10-25 cent Draftkings lottery ticket tournament entries (and Delanie Walker too dammit).

Higggins in the slot vs (ex-Brown) lilipution Buster Skrine is a severe mismatch, for the very reason why Higgins is being used in the slot.

Buster Skrine is your ideal nickel corner, intended to match up with your Edelmans and other little shrimps.  Skrine can run circles around Higgins, but he is still almost 5" taller, and Baker Mayfield is his Quarterback.

Not Kizer. Not Hoyer...

Most of you still don't get it.  Nevermind Browns 30 Titans 17.

Okbye

Browns vs Titans: Browns Might Win by Less than 10 Points.

Here come the Titans, who Nick Snook says are without their Pro Bowl Left Tackle (Lewan) and will start Dennis Kelly instead.

We're familiar with how the Titans' offense will try to compensate, as the Browns' (real) offense finds ways to help their own mediocre Tackles:

You chip, run quick hitters underneath, try to run more, and max protect on third and longs.  I would also expect the athletic Marcus Mariota to roll out frequently.  Elite slot guy Adam Humphries should be targeted a lot, and they might use Dion Lewis as a receiver.

It's not just Kelly vs Garrett, because Garrett and Vernon might well switch sides, both those guys love to stunt inside.

I don't envy any Offensive Line that has to deal with Murderers' Row(@all rights preserved).  Every one of the starters overmatches 90% of the guys they'll face, and they can only double team one of them...and they can beat double-teams anyway.

Nick says that the Titans (with Lewan) ranked 22nd in sacks allowed in 2018, allbeit with injuries and shuffling elsewhere.

The sacks aren't all on the protection, of course.  Delanie Walker is an outstanding Tight End, and I already mentioned Humphries and Lewis, but these are most of Mariotta's weapons.

And Marcus Mariotta has held the ball too long.  He doesn't make quick decisions (like a certain Quarterback we know.)

I think that Titans offense is in trouble here.  If they go by last year's tapes and stats, they buckle their chin straps and try to run over the Browns' defense with Henry (and a pinch of Lewis), but:

That was a different Defensive Coordinator, 3 starting defensive linemen are new, the secondary is upgraded (and everybody including Williams can tackle) and Wilks likes to blitze the a-gaps with safeties and linebackers.

...nahh, my inner-fan and inner-analyst concur that the Browns' defense should beat the snot out of the Titans' offense.

The Titans' defense is tougher, but...

...ok the Browns should pound the Titans to paste.

The Titans, despite their injuries, made the playoffs last season.

The Browns have lost every opener for...

GET OVER IT YOU PEOPLE!!!

Browns 77, Titans minuss 4.

Seriously, most of you suffer Stockholm Syndrome (which is irrational).

Why tf is anybody sweating OBJ's health, as it matters?

Terry Pluto's reservations (he predicts 9-7) mostly make sense.

The rookie kicker and punter part of this are overblown.  It's irrational to expect Gillan to...what?  And for Seifert to...what, regress?  JFC STOP IT!!!

Ok ok Seifert could still cave in like the last guy did, but it...

Why TF are we sweating this?  Are Field Goals and extra points going to---

WTF is WRONG with you people!?!

Oh yeah.  Stockholm syndrome.  Sorry okbye
