Browns Analysts: If You MUST Spazz Out, at Least Spazz Over the Real Screwups

The second-guessing is kind of getting out of hand already.  Picking on the Browns for running hurry-up near the end of the first half?

Sure, it makes more sense on the surface to be more methodical and bleed the clock more, but you're overthinking this:

The number one objective is to score a touchdown, and Mayfield and the offense are far more effective in the hurry-up.

Some of us have been wanting to know why tf Freddie Kitchens deleted it from his arsenal, and were overjoyed to see it again.

I can't wait for somebody to compare the Browns' offense in the hurry-up to the normal version, because the normal version was a lot less likely to reach the end zone than the hurry-up was.

I'm not yet sure why that is, but I do know that the hurry-up prevents both defensive substitutions (locking in favorable matchups) and tactical adjustments (ie defenses don't have time to get "diabolical"; they have to keep it pretty simple, and try to blow stuff up with hastily-determined blitzes).

The hurry-up was the biggest single reason why the early lead existed, and was the best chance to make that lead 7 points bigger in the first half, and greatly undermine the rushing attack which is vital to the Seahawks offense.

Mayfield threw a dumb pass--not Kitchens.  If he hadn't, they were likely to score a TD, and only a few permabashers would be bashing Freddie today.

And that was the only interception that was on Baker.  And why doesn't anybody get when a receiver is "sitting down" under zone coverage?  "Well it was a little behind him but--" when the receiver was stationary and facing the quarterback?  Define "behind him".

Wow even Doug and Jim...you get that where the receiver "sits down" is not precisely predetermined, as zone coverages are unpredictable?  The Quarterback will throw to a "spot" yes, but are you kidding me picking at Mayfield for making a guy reach a foot or two to his left or right!?!

Yeah the defense forgot how to tackle again and stuff...

I'm too disgusted with all this Chicken Little bad analysis to write more.  Enjoy your necktie party.
