Well, they do. The writer rattles off a couple Eagles linebackers who are really good, and brushes off Schobert, Collins, and Kendricks himself like so much dandruff.
Not even mentioned is draft pick Genard Avery who, like Kendricks, is getting reps with the first team defense (they're apparently James Harrison-type passrushers, you know, like I told you they would be?)
I didn't even mention Chris Kirksey, because I still think that Kendricks will take over a lot of his reps.
If I covered the Eagles, I might want to laugh off what Kendricks said, but I wouldn't, because I passed arithmatic.
This article can't figure out that "this room" means the linebackers (in playereze), and laughs off the notion that the Browns overall talent could be anywhere near the Eagles, because the Browns went 0-16 last season.
I don't care about last season. Just go position-group by position group with an open, emotionally-detatched mind, and you see more talent on this team than there is on that team.
Shut tf up! You are prejudiced. The Eagles won the Superbowl while the Browns lost every game, so your mind is made up, and you won't even t h i n k anymore.
Who is the Eagles' Josh Gordon? Can you find a Chubb or Hyde there? A Jarvis Landry? A Myles Garrett? They got a Denzel Ward over there? I already covered the linebackers, but (honest question) do the Eagles have an Ogunjobi?
Oh shut up again! I'm not even conceding quarterback, as if that's all there is and there aint no more in the first place. Wentz is better than Taylor, but not by a significant margin. Foles might be better than him too, but it's close.
Listen to me here: DeShone Kizer is in Green Bay now DO YOU UNDERSTAND?
I know better than to tell you the Browns have a better starting tight end than the Eagles (right now), but I wonder if the second and third tight ends match up in favor of the Eagles here, too.
I honestly don't know the answer to this question (zero research), but is the Eagles offensive line as good as or better than the Browns'?
That's all I got on talent. New topic: Coaching:
Pederson is a great Head Coach. The Eagles won the Superbowl more because of him than they did on talent (I don't know the assistant coaches, but assume they were pretty special too).
Chris Carter isn't the wide receiver expert you are, or anything, but in his humble opinion, Josh Gordon is one of the 10 best wide receivers in the last 20 years, and his top comparison is Randy Moss.
But that's just Chris Carter. What does he know?
I've been unable to watch "Hard knocks", but appreceiate Mary Kay Cabbott's synopsis of episode 3:
I like Hue Jackson more based on how he talks to Mayfield. I appreciate how Mayfield tries to use humor to diffuse tension after a fight (and persists when Landry doesn't get the joke the first time---Mayfield is a natural born leader (and comic).
I hated Jackson trying to "woo" Dez Bryant. Every time I find something good to say about Hue, he does or says something idiotic.
I like Chris Kirksey even more, based on how he talked to Landry after his fight with Terrence Mitchell. Kirksey obstensibly is in no position to "counsel" Jarvis Landry, but he did so anyway, and Landry listened.
The translation goes like this: "Don't break your hand over chickenshit".
I still expect Kendricks to take Kirksey's job, but really like Kirksey as a leader/smart guy.
Joel Cade wrote another terrific article on players to watch vs the Eagles.
In Joel's opinion, these players are Baker Mayfield, Jamie Collins, and Devon Cajuste. AMEN!
I think Cade overshot on Mayfield a bit by implying that he could supplant Tyrod Taylor as the starter in game one, but he still makes a good case.
Cade is pretty much on the money with Jamie Collins. He has "underperformed" so far in 2018, and needs to DO something vs the Eagles tomorrow night.
Joel speculates about trading him, and is absolutely right about his big salary pretty much blowing that out of the water. If Jamie craps out, you get to blame Sashi Brown for it.
Congratulations.
Cajuste (see recent posts) is a "hobby" of mine. Joel seems to think that he needs to play fullback to make the team.
Joel knows his stuff, so I'm sticking my uneducated neck out here, but I gotta say what? Huh?
Seth DeValve projects as a potential fullback, but Cajuste is taller and leaner; he's a former wide receiver...possibly Joel knows something I don't, but right now I need to correct him:
Devon Cajuste is a tight end (or H-back). He's never---skip it:
DeValve might be a fullback, but nothing in Cajuste's history says he could play that position.
See earlier posts: Cajuste could make the final roster due to NFL rule-changes as a fourth tight end. He's NOT a fullback.
Cajuste could also make it to the practice squad.
I'll guess he makes the final team as a fourth tight end/H-back/special teamer (but NOT as a fullback---No offense Joel).
...okbye
