I did hear Baker Mayfield once again marching the team up and down the field, including a (wiped out by penalty) touchdown pass to this Willies guy that I admit I didn't even know was on the roster. I immediately told my peeps that I liked Willies better than Dez Bryant (too).
Before I lost my signal (and the band started playing), the Browns had 169 ground yards for a 5.1 ypc average. I did get a couple nice runs by Carlos Hyde off twitter, and heard that Chubb had 52 or so yards, but need to fill that in tomorrow.
I guess the guy Hue Jackson wanted to trade a second and fourth round pick for late last season (which trade Sashi Brown heroicly botched), A J McCarron fizzled.
I pointed out to my peeps that Hue Fisher started DeShone Kizer, tried to force Brown to trade second and fourth round picks for McCarron (a pending free agent) in the last third of the 2017 season, and (just now) said that he's considering demoting Baker Mayfield to the third team behind Drew Stanton.
...I'm done defending Hue Jackson. He's all yours.
But we can all trust Todd Haley, Gregg Williams, and all those
Let Dorsey do his PT Barnum crap, and Hue his Inspector Clouseau imitation.
Ah! Thank you Terry Pluto! Terry filled in most of my blanks on this game, complete with (credible) insight. Chubb did about as well as Chubb, and Duke was in on it.
The Corbett-Rango guard combo opened holes better. Terry said Tretter was only in for eight plays, however, and ignored the backup center (I assume Reiter) who took over for him.
Great! Here's another insightful and stat-laden "wrap" by Patrick Mack, which takes you guys off the hook for the second part of this post (be grateful):
Pat isolated the respective first teams, and deemed the Browns first team defense almost dominating. Garrett was Garrett, but Ogunjobi was right there with him.
Patrick also mentioned Avery and Kendricks (the Rodneys)--they both brought heat and blew things up in the backfield.
I'll figure out what the various assorted wide receivers who Dez Bryant is supposed to be better than did later, and get back to you on that.
Cajuste made at least one big play, by the way.
Okay I'm done okbye
