Greedy is Good. Greedy Works. Competition too: 2019 Browns

This whole this keeps looking better and better.  I hadn't quite realized how much competition has been built into the 2019 Browns in every area.

And I mean competition between offensive and defensive players.

OBJ and Jarvis Landry are tailor made to give the 6'1" Greedy Williams problems.  Greedy can handle the skyscrapers, but the shorter, more "sudden" guys will challenge him.

Meanwhile, Denzel Ward is going to give them a hard time.  And by the way, I just listed 3 Pro Bowl players.

Baker Mayfield vs all these defenders will be constructive as hell.  Few Quarterbacks can hit dimes and tight windows like this guy can, and these coverage guys are going to have to match that.

As we've already seen, several of them are already picking off and deflecting his (accurate) passes.

As Rocky's Manager would say, it's a tinga beauty:

Njoku vs these safeties in this Wilks Defense will have a hard time, but so will they.  Nobody has a big advantage here; the talent levels are similar.

These Offensive Linemen will have to deal with these Defensive Linemen.  Tretter and Bitonio are two of the best at their positions, but along with Hubbard and Robinson, they'll have to "max out" to match up with these veterans.

Whoever wins the Right Guard Derby will have to top a very high bar.  Corbett is still very much in it, and is physically very similar to Joel Bitonio, who he took over for at Left Tackle in college.

I think when the dust settles, Corbett will win that job, and do well.  At any rate, once the pads come on, Ogunjobi and Richardson will expose every flaw in practice.

Stop yammering about rankings from 2018!

The Defense has two new starters up front, a new starting cornerback, and two new nickel safeties, plus (oh yeah) a new Defensive Coordinator.  With 5 new starters (and a lot more changes) what the hell does the 2018 Defense have to do with the 2019 Defense?

Dingbats...and why the hell are you lumping the Haley/Taylor/Hyde Offense in with the Kitchens/Mayfield/Chubb Offense, and the first 8 games with the last 8?

Crap OBJ is a BONUS!  They didn't even need him!

But I read these permabashers pointing out that the 2018 Browns only beat teams with losing records and stuff.

That's a valid point, for sure, but it ignores the fact that bad kicking and coaching and Quarterbacking kept them from beating the Steelers, Ravens, and Saints...

With a new Quarterback, a Rookie behind him, a new Offensive system, and still one of the youngest teams in the NFL I mean...can't you THINK before you parrot this crap!?!

For cryin out loud Des Harrison started 8 games.  Carlos Hyde kept Chubb parked on the bench til Dorsey yanked Hyde out from under Haley (great move, by the way!).

Name the starting WR opposite Jarvis Landry!  JOSH GORDON, for a minute...who else huh?

Hold up there, G! No I did NOT predict a 2019 Lombardi Trophy for the Browns, and I got witnesses!

Nobody is denying that the 2019 Browns are loaded, and nobody except Colon Cowturd denies that Baker Mayfield already IS an elite Quarterback, but it's hard for young teams to get all the way there.

This blabberage about Freddie Kitchens' inexperience does have some merit to it, although it's overstated.  His winning a lot of games this season will be like falling off a log, but the Playoffs are different, and I'm not sure if any player on this roster has made it all the way to the Big Game.

The level of competition spikes in the playoffs, often with teams you haven't played.  They're so often won or lost on one bad call, one dropped pass, a fumble; younger teams tend to lose those games.

As John Dorsey said, the goal of the 2019 Browns is to win the AFC North.  This is a realistic goal, and they shouldn't be thinking beyond it.

Indeed, Lord Insideous and every other great Head Coach discourages thinking even past the next game.

The Patriots kind of expect to win the Superbowl every year, but every player understands that the only way to do it is one game at a time.

Freddie Kitchens only worked for Belichick's mentor Bill Parcells for one season, but in interviews etc he's a huge Parcells fan, and seeks to emulate him:

The next game is the only game.  It doesn't matter how good or bad they are, you have to zero in and focus on them, and make sure to beat them.

Tom Brady might be the Greatest of All Time, but he would admit that here and there he gets punked and loses, and also that his Pats beat more talented teams.

Indeed, aside from Brady, the Patriots have won a bunch of playoff games and Superbowls with inferior team talent.

I believe that Freddie Kitchens can imitate his role-model, Bill Parcells, G, and somehow manage to miraculously at least win a wild card slot in 2019.

Sigh...no G I didn't just say Baker Mayfield is already better than Tom Brady, nor that Freddie Kitchens=Bill Parcells sigh...

Crap when did translating english into english become part of this hobby?

Freddie Kitchens AND HIS STAFF should at least make the playoffs with this massively talented team...oops am I being overly optimisticđź–•here?

Here's the deal, you people:

Go from individual player to individual player, or position group by position group, and you can't escape the fact that the Browns are the most talented team in the AFC North (ps the Steelers are next and the BENGALS are better than the Ravens deal with it).

Yeah I accept Tomlin and Harbaugh as Coaches to beat, but (*yes G you can quote me on this*) I predict that Freddie Kitchens and his staff will NOT be "outcoached" by anybody.

The 2019 Browns should sweep the Division, based on coaching and talent.

That probably won't happen, because Division rivals know their opponents so well, and often find "creases" to exploit.

But in 2019, the Cleveland Browns are the team to beat.  Not the Steelers.  Not the Ravens.

Familiarity doesn't trump talent.

Digging deeper into analytical incompetence, Baker Mayfield practiced with OBJ LAST season, and will do so again (except running the Browns' playbook) again in 2019, between now and Training Camp.

Jarvis Landry helped set this up in 2018.  Beckham was his bro, and just due to that, showed up to catch passes from Mayfield.

No sentient being imagined that OBJ would become a Brown at that time, but he thought it would be fun to practice with his bfam Jarvis Landry, so he did.

NOW, Baker Mayfield is off to SoCal with Landry and Beckham (and I expect) several other players to (sshhh!) secretly practice per the playbook (as horrific as that sounds to the "union bosses" sshhhhh!!! )

...I doubt that OBJ's absence from OTA's will matter to him.  Except that OBJ is HEALTHY now, which is a good idea.

And (see last 3 posts)  developing the backup WR's is GOOD...

Zzinggg nevermind:  Beckham gets hurt a lot.  His backup is important oh good grief nobody's home nevermind okbye
